Career Highlights: Women's Tri-fitness (Fitness America Regional) 2nd in age group, 10th overall 2001 Fitness America Nationals ESPN I began working out in the end of November 1999, because I was around but over 215lb and well above my ideal weight. Also, my self-esteem was way down and I was fatigue all the time. I became interested in fitness competitions after working out with my personal trainer, who competed. We made a promise that I would one day compete. It gave me a goal to work toward and I love a challenge. In August 2001 I reached my goal weight and decided to keep my promise. I began training in September and did Women's Tri-Fitness in November to get my feet wet and learn a little about the fitness world. I had a blast and made the cut to go to Nationals which was a dream come true, yet also a challenge. My self esteem had gotten a huge boost but to get on stage in a swimsuit for a show that would be televised in more than 300,000 homes was scary. I DID IT! When I walked on stage I had already won because I had gained so much confidence in my self I felt like a million bucks. I am not sure how many of the other competitors can say that they know what it feels like to be overweight or better known as "FAT".I love to roller skate, swim, play softball and enjoy kickboxing and aerobics. I hope to motivate people to shape up, be healthy and love themselves. I am currently in the process of getting certified to be a personal trainer and aerobics instructor. I also hope to compete a few times this year. I would love to do print modeling and continue to compete to keep myself on track.
